Then when you add things like both of the main characters consistantly behaving like children, and a clumsily told story*, then what you get is a game that I actively dislike playing. The game is technologically sound, but to me the gameplay was just. In general when I find myself describing a sequel more with what they took away rather than what they added, I call it a bad sequel. I wasn't a fan of how they took away the world map or the majority of exploration either. It doesn't help that I like to play Tales games with my two sisters and the monster system made it so that the three of us couldn't play together most of the time. Personally, I think it was shoehorned in and doesn't really shine very much in a character action game. From what I've seen you either love it or hate it. The only new thing the game really added was said the monster taming system. (I'm thinking of Radiant Roar and Final Fury specifically here.) Just look at the mystic artes in DotNW to see what I mean. I mean the entire first half of the game is all about finding Lloyd and seeing all of the people who impacted his life.Īnd in general the game seemed to lack a touch of quality or polish. And hey, let's tease you with all the old characters! But they only join breifly and have nowhere near the same level of customization or combat effectiveness as the two main characters. You can go to all the locations in the old game, where all the puzzles are solved. The whole thing felt like just a demo for the first game. :< My biggest problem with the sequel was it felt like it couldn't really stand on it's own two feet. I'm glad I got this one for free anyway, and kinda glad they didn't port both it would just be one more game they made worse. The one thing I did enjoy a lot was getting to tame monsters in a Pokemon-esque manner. The characters were very annoying with Tenebrae being the only cool new one, in my opinion, and the story was eeeeehhhh to me. Originally posted by Chasey:If they did a better job porting this, I'd have maybe hoped for the sequel too, but I have to say I really was NOT a fan of the sequel. So before you attack people over a small comment, look at your own life, and think about how you can be a decent human for once.Īnyway. There's a thousand reason why your kind don't help. Threatening people's real lives over small game changes. You people who attack others are why we always get bad reps as gamers. I disliked Zesteria greatly, but I couldn't refund, because I played too long. But I still would have bought it seperately. I got Symphonia as the preorder bonus, yes. Not one that you should attack people because they'll support a series that may have bad ports. Port quality is a completely different topic of discussion. I won't buy Xillia 1 or 2, because I don't like those games. I will continue to buy the games I've played and liked. Not whether or not that your opinions are saited. This topic is about Dawn not being on PC, in the bundle like ps3. I don't go around attacking people for saying 8 words. People like you hurt the games industry.Įlitist? Arrogant? Yea, I am all these and more, but I don't think I'm wrong on this. Well, "standards" are subjective, and nothing objectively says that the quality of video games NEEDS to live up to my standards (which I consider bare-minimum), but it's still frustrating when people like me are held back by the gormless masses who will blindly support even the laziest, most cynical moves of big companies. Jesus, people like you deserve all the ♥♥♥♥ you're given by lazy companies, only the people with standards get to suffer as well. You know, this is more than likely the reason they can release poorly-functioning software and not have to take responsibility for it. Originally posted by Shadow Esper:I still want Dawn.
